Copyright Beware!

Be mindful when using the creative works of others that you have their permission, or their work has a Creative Commons Licence.

If you are a small business starting out, we highly encourage you to take the time when creating your marketing assets from the works of others that images be royalty-free, are high resolution, have no watermarks, and where possible, use SVG or EPS images. These image formats are 'vectors' so when enlarged and printed as posters, banners etc, they will remain crisp and not pixelate like PNG and JPG images can in that situation.

Canva is good for creating online assets and smaller print assets, but not always as efficient when printing large scale. Another place worth looking at for assets is Envato; some assets are free, while others require a subscription, but many come with SVG and EPS options.

If you'd like to learn more about Creative Commons Licences, this is an excellent place to start!
